COVID-19 IgG/IgM test
Available as cassette
COVID-19 IgG/IgM Rapid Test Kit diagnostic test detects the COVID-19 causing novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. It is a rapid lateral flow immunoassay used as a screening test and aid to the diagnosis of COVID-19. The test kit comprises of the simultaneous detection and differentiation of IgG anti-COVID-19 virus and IgM anti-COVID-19 virus in the human whole blood, serum, or plasma. A colored line will appear in the test line region M if the specimen contains COVID-19 IgM antibodies, and in the test line region G if the specimen contains COVID-19 IgG antibodies. No colored line in either of the test line regions indicates a negative result. A control line will always appear in the control line region that indicates that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred. The Disease
General Information
The COVID-19 infection is caused by a novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Coronaviruses are enveloped RNA viruses that are commonly distributed among humans, other mammals, and birds. The virus can cause respiratory, enteric, hepatic, and neurological diseases. There are six strains of coronavirus species known to cause human diseases, four of which are prevalent and typically cause common cold symptoms in immunocompetent individuals. Two other strains are zoonotic in origin and can cause fatal illnesses, namely the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). Novel coronaviruses are likely to emerge in humans due to many factors, such as: high prevalence, wide distribution, large genetic diversity, and frequent genome recombination of the virus. While the majority of individuals with the COVID-19 experience mild to moderate symptoms, severe illnesses can occur and even causes deaths.
Preventions
As a disease caused by a novel coronavirus, there have yet been any vaccines or specific antiviral medicine for the treatment of the COVID-19. Prevention stands at the utmost importance to protect yourself and others against the virus. Frequent hand washing or use of hand sanitizers, covering your cough or sneezes, and wearing protective equipment near people who are infected are some of the most important steps of prevention. Rapid testing in communities is also important to ensure quick isolation for people infected. The COVID-19 IgG/IgM Rapid Test Kit can detect the infection of SARS-CoV-2 in 10 minutes with more than 99% accuracy. The availability of fast, easy to use and accurate testing enables efficient screening among suspected patients.
