More Information about Digital/Infrared Thermometer
AccuQuik™ digital thermometers are accurate and easy to use appliances for measuring body temperatures for both clinical and home use. The thermometers are waterproof and are available as soft or rigid rods, with varying readout periods. The infrared thermometers use infrared to allow for both ear and forehead temperature readings.
AccuQuik™ digital thermometers have the bonus of being mercury-free: mercury is a very poisonous chemical and is fairly expensive. Our digital thermometers are affordable and safe. Furthermore, mercury has a high freezing point and cannot be used in places where temperatures get very low. Digital thermometers are compact, stylish, do not harm the environment, and do not contain any dangerous chemicals. Compared to analog gauges, digital thermometers make it much easier to get a quick and accurate temperature reading.
Digital thermometers use a device known as a thermal resistor, an electrical device that changes its electrical resistance with changes in temperature. A small internal computer then determines the temperature of the thermal resistor by measuring the change in resistance. Infrared thermometers use infrared energy to measure body temperature.
The forehead thermometer simply requires the flattened end of the device to be held against the person’s forehead until the device beeps. Forehead strip thermometers should be held against the forehead, and the temperature read of the strip whilst still held on the forehead.
The ear thermometer is equally as simple to use, requiring the tip of the device to be lightly inserted into the ear canal until the device beeps. Once the device has beeped then the temperature reading will be available. For the ear thermometer it is recommended to clean the end of the probe before inserting it into the ear, but do not immerse it in water.

Why Digital/Infrared Thermometer?
-
Convenient:
When dealing with infants or someone in distress, taking a temperature can be difficult; however, use of digital in-ear thermometers is quick and convenient.
-
Accurate:
AccuQuik™ digital thermometers take the temperature reading from the tympanic membrane (eardrum) which provides an accurate measurement because it shares the same blood supply as the brain.
-
Fast:
Other kinds of thermometers can take minutes to retrieve accurate information; ours take only seconds to deliver rapid information. This is a big plus when dealing with infants or people in distress.
-
Simple:
With just a click of a button, these thermometers are quick, convenient, and easy to use. The digital number read out gives an accurate and clear display.
-
Comfort:
The in-ear and forehead thermometers are gentle and comfortable for sensitive ears or for toddlers who are more resistant to being probed in the mouth for temperature readings.
