More Information about the PCR Virus Transportation System
PCR Virus Transportation System
A PCR Virus Transportation System is a kit for specimen collection and transportation of viruses for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2) virus of flu, Bird Flu, Hand/foot/mouth disease, measles and many more. Our PCR Virus Transportation Systems are disposable and safe to use systems and grant a long shelf life of the patogen into the preservation medium.
AccuQuik™ promotes the use of PCR Virus Transportation System.
General Information
The system includes a flocked swab, a double glass collection tube filled with a virus preservation medium and a biohazard bag for safe transportation. The transportation system is designed for a faster and complete release of samples and easy operation while collecting, storing and shipping the samples from the individual to the laboratory for analysis.
Usage
Samples collection can be obtained via two routes: via Nasopharyngeal route (through patient nostrils), or via Oropharyngeal Route (through patient mouth). The usage of the appropriate swab is recommended for the best collection of possible patogen colonies. Once collected the specimen, the flocked swab has to be immediately stored into the tube, putting the tip in contact with the virus preservation medium. The back of the used swab is therefore broken into the tube to allow easy sealing of the tube. At this point tube is ready to be sealed into its biohazard bag and shipped to the laboratory for analysis.
Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is a laboratory technique combining reverse transcription of RNA into DNA and amplification of specific DNA targets using PCR method. This allows the doctors to analyze gene expression and quantification of viral RNA in patients’ specimens.
